Hamayak R. Melik-Aghamiryan

Hamayak R. Melik-Aghamiryan was born in the village Norashenik, Kapan, Republic of Armenia, on October 31, 1887. He was the founder of Armenian Chemical Industry: Engeneer-Technologist, Technological-Scientifical Candidate (1954). He graduated from the University of Grenoble (1913). He also participated in constructing of the Oil-soap Factory of Yerevan (1924-1926), Chemical Company in Vanadzor (technical director, 1928-34) and Synthetic-Rubber Factory (technical director, 1934). In 1935-37 he was deputy chairman of the USSR State Planning. In 1946 he worked in Kirovakan's Chemical Factory, from 1957 in the Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy of Yerevan. He also was engaged in the study of basalt roasting and smelting.
